Dr. Namyeon Lee graduated with a Ph.D. in Journalism in 2021 from the University of Missouri. At UNCP she teaches courses on public relations, social media and mass communication research and theory. Her professional experience includes working as a public relations assistant at a nonprofit organization.

Dr. Lee’s research focuses on health and science communication, media psychology and persuasion. Current projects include improving clinical trial participation among rural populations and examining the impact of news frames on cell-cultured meat news. Her research has been published in Public Understanding of Science, Science Communication,Health Communication and Journal of Visual Communication in Medicine. She received the top research poster award from the International Communication Association’s Information Systems Division.
