Peter Grimes is an associate professor of English at UNCP, where he teaches fiction and creative nonfiction writing. He also serves as the editor of Pembroke Magazine, an annual publication of fiction, nonfiction and poetry from around the country and abroad. His own fiction and creative nonfiction have been published in journals such as Narrative, American Short Fiction, Fiction International, The Carolina Quarterly, Nashville Review and Alaska Quarterly Review, among others.

Dr. Grimes holds a BA in philosophy and psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an MFA in creative writing from the University of Florida and a PhD in English from the University of Cincinnati. He and his wife, Nancy, a sixth-grade social studies teacher, live in Fayetteville with their pets.
