Tracy Cooper

Dr. Tracy Cooper received her Ph.D. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She joined the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at UNCP in 2015. She teaches courses in public administration, nonprofit leadership and management, emergency management and American government at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Her teaching also includes community engagement, public participation and organizational behavior.

Her primary research interests include leadership in the public and nonprofit sectors, disaster management and collaborative governance. She has presented her work at national and international conferences, exploring leadership and inter-organizational relationships in cross-sector networks. Dr. Cooper also leads workshops and training on board development, coalition building, strategic planning and community outreach strategies.
