If you received college credit while away, please send an official transcript from each college/university you attended since leaving UNCP. If you have taken any CLEP tests, please submit your official test scores to Undergraduate Admissions for evaluation. For information concerning college credit, please contact the Admissions office at 910.521.6262.
As a readmitted transfer student, knowing which classes will transfer back to UNCP is helpful. Only courses of a "C" or better can be transferred. You can use the Transfer Course Equivalency Tool to see which courses will transfer.
To apply for federal financial aid or UNC Pembroke scholarships, submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online and check with Financial Aid for scholarship information.
Be sure to include UNC Pembroke’s federal school code, 002954, and complete the FAFSA as soon as you submit your readmission application. For any questions about financial aid, please visit with the Financial Aid office or call 910.775.4620.
The North Carolina Residency Determination Service (RDS) assesses residency status for in-state tuition eligibility at all UNC System universities. If you’re an undergraduate applicant seeking in-state tuition, please visit NCresidency.org to complete your residency verification.
Since the verification process can take up to 25 days, starting early is recommended. If you’ve already received your Residency Certification Number (RCN), enter it on your application. If you haven’t yet obtained your RCN, you may submit your application now and add your RCN later. Timely completion of the Residency Determination process is your responsibility.

If you’re seeking readmission after an academic suspension or dismissal, you must appeal to the Suspension Appeals Committee. Deadlines for each term are available on the Center for Student Success (CSS) and Financial Aid pages.
CSS coordinates appeals. Contact CSS to schedule a meeting with a counselor to create an appeal packet. This packet should include a letter explaining the circumstances that affected your academic success, an Academic Success Contract and any relevant personal or medical documentation.
Please note that appeals received after the deadline cannot be considered, and decisions from the Suspension Appeals Committee are final. If your appeal is denied, you may only re-appeal if there’s a significant change to your academic record. Approved appeals require participation in CSS’s student support services; failure to participate may result in immediate dismissal at the semester’s end.

If you’re seeking readmission after being on academic probation at the end of your last semester, you’ll re-enroll under academic probation status for your returning semester.
You won’t need to complete an academic appeal, but a financial aid appeal is required.
