Advisory Board
Purpose and Responsibilities
The Dean’s Advisory Board for the College of Health Sciences brings together industry
leaders, professionals, alumni, students and community members committed to advancing
the college’s mission. This board plays a vital role in shaping the future of the
college by offering strategic insight, advocating for our programs and supporting
key initiatives through service and philanthropy. Members partner with the dean to
provide guidance on emerging issues and help strengthen CHS through their time, talent
and resources.
Offer insights and advice on the overall strategic direction of the College of Health Sciences.
Provide input on new programs, initiatives, and curriculum enhancements to ensure alignment with industry trends and academic standards.
Assist in fundraising efforts by leveraging personal and professional networks to
support the College of Health Sciences' financial goals.
Foster relationships with external stakeholders, including industry leaders, alumni,
and community members, to enhance the College of Health Sciences’ presence and partnerships.
Advocate for the College of Health Sciences within the community, promoting its achievements
and addressing challenges.
Act as ambassadors for the UNCP, participating in events and activities that enhance
its reputation and connections.
Attend regular meetings to discuss pertinent issues, review progress, and collaborate
on strategic initiatives.
The Dean's Advisory Board meets twice each year. Each member is encouraged to attend
all meetings. Advisory Board members will be invited to attend and/or participate
in all College events and activities. To facilitate members’ schedules, the work of
the Advisory Board may employ teleconferencing where appropriate.
