Family Weekend
Family weekend is one big Pembroke celebration as students’ families join us on campus for two days of special events. We’ll cheer for our football and basketball teams, tailgate with food and new friends and enjoy cultural festivals. You’ll even get exclusive Family Weekend swag as well as a chance to visit the town of pembroke!
Activities for Family Weekend
1 p.m.: Volleyball Vs Coker (Mental Health Awareness)
Join us as UNCP Women’s Volleyball takes on Coker University in a special match dedicated to Mental Health Awareness. Come out to support the Braves and help break the stigma surrounding mental health—together, we can raise awareness, show support, and build a stronger, more compassionate campus community. 2-6 p.m.: Check-In

9 a.m.-5 p.m.: Visit the Museum of the Southeast American Indian Open
Located on the UNCP campus in the iconic Old Main Building, the Museum of the Southeast American Indian offers authentic artifacts, fine arts and hands-on experiences that will engage visitors with the vibrant cultures and rich histories of Southeastern Native peoples. Old Main, 1st Floor
7 a.m.-11 p.m: Active Braves: Campbell Wellness Center Open
Enjoy access to state-of-the-art fitness equipment, group exercise classes and wellness resources to help you stay active and healthy. Family members must be accompanied by a student. Jones Center
3-5 p.m.: Career Center Open House
Stop by the Career Center and learn how your student can get involved with experiential
learning, like internships.

4-5 p.m.: Myth V. Fact about Study Abroad Session
Heard that studying abroad is too expensive or hard to fit into your schedule? Join us as we debunk common myths and share the real facts about global opportunities at UNCP. Get the info you need to start your journey with confidence! Student Center 208
4-5:30 p.m.: Scrub It Up: Body Scrub Making Class with Luna Tree
Join us for a hands-on, self-care experience where you’ll create your own custom body scrub using natural ingredients. Guided by Luna Tree, this fun and relaxing workshop is perfect for anyone looking to treat their skin and unwind. All materials are provided, and you’ll take home your personalized scrub. Cost: $15 per person.
5-7:30 p.m: Dinner with Your Brave
Treat your student to dinner at their favorite local restaurant or join them at one of UNCP’s campus dining locations. Various Locations
6 p.m.: Pembroke Scholars (Invite Only)
Join the Center for Student Success as we celebrate the achievements of #BraveNation students. Students from across campus will be recognized for the success they have had in the classroom. GPAC
Athletic Complex Grand Opening and Block Party
Join us for an unforgettable evening as we celebrate the grand opening of UNC Pembroke’s brand-new Athletic Complex! Come explore the new space, connect with the BraveNation community and enjoy an exciting night of celebration, food and entertainment under the lights. Athletic Complex
7 p.m.: Volleyball Vs Albany State (Mental Health Awareness)
Cheer on the Braves as they face Albany State in a match dedicated to Mental Health Awareness. This special event highlights the importance of mental wellness and encourages open conversations across campus. This special event honors current students of UNC Pembroke alumni. This ceremony celebrates their connection to BraveNation and the lasting legacy of UNCP across generations. JATH Event Room

11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Family Tailgate Zone
Join us before the big game for a fun-filled celebration the whole family will enjoy! This exciting pregame experience features delicious food, engaging activities for all ages, live music, and plenty of school spirit. It’s the perfect way to spend time together and get ready to cheer on the Braves! Cost: $20 per person. Students can use a meal swipe. Lot 14 (Parking lot outside of the Jones Center)
1 p.m.: Football Game V. Delta State
Join us for an exciting Braves Football matchup as part of Family Weekend 2025! Watch the UNC Pembroke Braves take on Delta State in an afternoon full of school spirit and community pride. Tickets: Single-game tickets will go on sale in mid-August and can be purchased online at UNCPbraves.com/tickets. Want to sit with your student? We know many families want to sit together during the game. Students will be able to purchase tickets for family members and reserve seats next to them in the main grandstand during the week leading up to the game. 1 p.m.: Volleyball Vs Eckerd (Neon Day)
Get ready to light up the stands as the Braves take on Eckerd in our Neon Day match! Wear your brightest neon gear and bring the energy as we turn Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court into a glowing sea of support. Let’s shine bright and cheer loud for a Braves victory! Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court
4-5:30 p.m.: Kickback at the Halls
Take a break and spend some quality time with your student right where they live! Join us for an open-house-style event in the residence halls featuring light refreshments, games and a chance to meet Residence Life staff and other Brave families. Whether you're catching up with your student or getting a glimpse of their campus home, this is a great opportunity to relax, connect and experience a bit of daily life at UNCP. 5-7:30: Dinner with Your Brave
Enjoy a relaxed evening reconnecting with your student over dinner! Choose from one of our convenient on-campus dining locations or explore one of Pembroke’s local eateries just minutes from campus. Whether you're craving something quick and casual or a sit-down meal, it’s a great opportunity to unwind and hear all about their BraveNation experience. Various Locations
7 p.m.: Volleyball Vs Wingate (Neon Night)
Glow crazy with us at Neon Night as the Braves face off against Wingate under the lights! Wear your boldest neon outfits, grab your glow sticks, and help us light up the court with school spirit. It’s going to be a high-energy night you won’t want to miss! Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court
7:30 p.m.: An Evening of Jazz with Keith David
Tony Award nominee and three-time Emmy Award winning Hollywood actor Keith David has appeared in more than 300 film, stage, and television roles, but his first love is music. He portrayed Nat King Cole in the Broadway tour of “Too Marvelous For Words.” Join Keith and his band for a night of smooth jazz and contemporary standards. Tickets start at $20.
